A few pacing issues, a few places I’d swear a paragraph was accidentally cut, but otherwise - if you want a tropey historical romance with a trans lead who is treated with exquisite gentleness by the author and the other characters, and a sweeping happily ever after, you’ve come to the right place. I stayed up too late finishing this <3

oh this was so CUTE! masterfully executed yearning, heartache, forgiveness, family dynamics… this is basically everything i want queer historical romance to be in terms of balancing light anachronism and character happiness. the second half did lose me a little due to the story focusing more on miranda’s season and its dramas, but i really love mira as a character so this wasn’t bc of her, rather that it just became more formulaic after that point. “it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single Regency protagonist in possession of a younger sister must be at some point be in want of rescuing that sister from ruin.”
