My first Junji Ito, I can see myself absorbed into the spiral world.
Slightly disturbing and peculiar.
Finished in less than an hour. Love it!

Wow... that was... bothering.
In a good way.
I loved the stories included in this volume.
There were lots of imagery that will leave me with nightmares for a few days.
Here are some of them.

This was the closest I've come so far to enjoying a manga. Interesting visuals, easy to understand premise, with lots of allure to how the mysteries will deepen and unfold.

This...was an interesting book. Not the typical book that I read, but that's the pleasure of required reading for school.

Uzumaki is about a town that is cursed/possessed. This is not your run of the mill possession by a mad ghost or demon, but a possession by a pattern. The spiral pattern to be exact. It all starts with the father of one of the main characters, who becomes so obsessed with the spiral pattern, going round and round and round. While there seems to be nothing quite wrong with the spiral pattern, it's the way the spiral interacts with the people and the town itself that make the town cursed. All things end up spiraling, and you're not really sure why. It doesn't tell you, making the curse seem that much more real in a way because you don't know why it's happening, but it is and there has to be a reason for it.

All in all, interesting, I kind of want to keep reading it. We'll just have to see how the rest of my semester goes first.
