This yoga book won't work for everyone. She is not afraid to swear and speak her truth. Stanley touches on a lot of subjects including fatphobia, racism, sexual assault and more. I personally found it refreshing and empowering. I have had a fear of studios for a long time not simply due to the cost, but the clique feeling that I often sense when I pass through the doors. Last weekend though, I had an incredible yoga experience and this book enhanced that journey for me.

"All wounds need to breathe, no matter how painful or smelly. even the wounds you'd rather keep hidden."

"I began to notice the difference between who I am in the privacy of my own identity and who I choose to be in front of other people."

"I'm the only one who will ever know me, and I'm enough. Imposter syndrome is a distraction from the work at hand."

"Remember that the body is not the experience. Life is experienced by the mind through the body. The body is only a vehicle." (Satchidananda, 92)

"I think the art of aging is to age with humility and grace. To age and enjoy the process. To welcome age with open arms."

"Only when you stop judging yourself and let all your thoughts flood in will the stillness come. The stillness lives between the cracks in our chaos."

"It's not his responsibility to believe in my version of the Truth. We can agree to disagree."

Really enjoyed the self-reflection presented in this work. Loving and appreciating yourself, for every aspect of who you are, was a major theme. An enjoyable read overall.

Loved this. So informative and inspiring. Loved the authors narration. Super relaxing and easygoing. But also challenging!
Check the trigger warnings, also there was a instance where she mentioned a scooter accident (labeled as car accident in the content warnings since that was closest) but it was brief.

I have not read Jessamyn's other book but I have followed her on Instagram ever since I heard about her from the Unladylike podcast. I loved this book so much, as it was unique as yoga books go. Jessamyn was honest and funny, writing in a way that I felt like I was talking to a friend. She dove into personal topics and hard topics which I really appreciated. I will definitely be checking out her other book soon and I can't wait to see what other content she releases!

A big thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book!
