The second book in a series is often disappointing. This was definitely not the case here. I loved Shallan's little adventures, Kaladin's struggles with his decisions and the extremely epic finale.
I read the last 2/3 of this book in one sitting, which speaks for itself.

Way of Kings was the best book I have ever read. Words of Radiance is the best book I have ever read. I am assuming Oathbringer will take over that spot once I read that.

If you are looking for some top tier fantasy, then look no further. Words of Radiance builds off the groundwork set by book 1 and reaches new heights the further it goes. Sequels are difficult but Sanderson continues to show why he is a master at this craft.
Each of our main cast gets plenty of time to shine (Shallan in particular gets more focus this time round and easily became my favourite POV during this read). It was great getting to have the main cast finally meet up and seeing their interactions / their relationships develop. Each of them is so well written that I can see my favourite changing on each future reread.
While there is plenty of epic moments throughout (one of my personal favourites being "Honour is dead but I'll see what I can do"), there is also plenty of quieter moments between these storms, like Shallan's and Adolin's date, that makes these characters feel more real and leads to you being even more invested when the big epic moments do happen.
All this is enhanced thanks to the masterful narrator provided by Kate Reading & Michael Kramer.
I eagerly look forward to the rest of the Stormlight Archive and need to know what happens next on Roshar.
