so far so good since i began reading in march 2021 this is my best book ever. i loved way of kings so much i didn’t believe words of radiance could top it but here we are. WoR started a bit slow in my opinion. for someone who loved jasnah i was angry when she died (so glad she’s still alive) and at first i was also angry shallan still had a long journey to the shattered plains but it was all worth it. i was happy when she met tyn at first but didn’t like the influence she had on shallan so i assure you i was so happy when shallan killed her. This was basically shallan’s book. she was the main character tbh. people didn’t really like her character in way of kings but i did but it gets better in WoR. Using her light weaving powers, infiltrating the ghost bloods, finding urithiru (sorry for the wrong spelling) intriguing the kholin family.
I must say i’m going to miss Sadeas. Really enjoyed reading from his Pov. i couldn’t believe he was still ready to go on with his plan after the whole Oathgate thing and vengeance pact being fulfilled. I love how in the heat of the moment Adolin made up his mind to kill him. it was necessary.
Dalinar Kholin (my best fictional character ever). I was really sad when he gave up fighting and his shardplate and blade but his character still remain unbelievably interesting. he nearly always makes the right decision, listens to advice of lesser men and all he wants to do is unite his people (not that i believe it’s the interpretation of his dream) . for a man that’s claimed to be a novice in politics he really played it well.
Kaladin Stromblessed. my man. his conflicting thoughts of morals is the best thing about his character. i like how he began to like adolin at the end and he had the best moments in this book i must say. when he stepped into the duel to help adolin “Honor is dead but i’ll see what i can do” him making up his mind to save Elhokar. Him saving dalinar and killing szeth. I’m really surprised he remembered his parents when the ever storm came.
