This is my favorite fantasy book of all time. Every page, every word is just perfection. The character development, the world expansion, the relationships, everything.

Bridge Four til the end of time.

Kaladin is such a good character, and seeing his journey so far is a delight (albeit an agonizing delight at times because ouch). I can't even count how many times I cheered, cried, or had to stop reading for a bit to process my emotions.

Shallan is my little cinnamon roll and I just want her to get some therapy. Girl is traumatized! Then again, that is all of the characters here. The way Sanderson writes about mental health struggles is so relatable. I absolutely loved Shallan's growth in this book.

And then there is Adolin. He is becoming a favorite character for me, and I did not see that coming! I just adore him.

Kaladin is definitely the star of the show, and he delivers. So many good lines.

"Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do."

The writing style is completely absorbing. Though at times, it gets tediou. As a plot focused reader, the extensive descriptions can get tiring.

Overall, the second installation of the stormlight archives is interesting and engrossing. However, given the length and the slow expansion of the secrets laid out for each character, some payoffs are too predictable and disappointing given the amount of chapters given to flesh them out.

Also, there was no sanderlanche at the end. I think that's why I sit here disappointed with the second book.

However, I love following the characters and their dialogues. One great thing about large books such as this, is the "everyday-ness" of the story. It truly feels like the characters and the events are happening in real time. The dialogue and character interactions feel real and true. - I love that.
