Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli was absolutely divine. It was comedic, heartwarming, and all around overflowing with positivity. I think this is a great book for middle grade/YA readers, especially those who struggle with being themselves. Honestly, I wish I had read this book back when I was in middle school, since we all have a lot to learn from Stargirl. Though a short, simple text, it is packed with powerful messaging about being a good person, and being unapologetically yourself, despite what others think about you. I truly loved this book from cover to cover, and read it in just one sitting. I’m so excited to see what the sequel holds, as I didn’t get enough Stargirl in just these 185 pages.
