Not my favorite of Picoult's novels but I definitely left intrigued by the plot structure.

I definitely understand the people who felt bogged down in the heavy Egyptology (would have been nice if written with more finesse), and I have a few quibbles with the plot, but overall I found the "Two Ways" intriguing and the themes of how we approach our mortality and live with our life's decisions resonated with me.

I ended up liking this book more than I thought I would. I have found Picoult's books hard to get through over the last few years. I liked the Egyptology part but thought it went on way too long. I really enjoyed the idea of the death doula...that was beautifully done. All in all I felt it was a satisfying read and ending. I think she tied in all the ideas that were introduced.

Would have rated much higher if Picoult had less detail about Egyptology and quantum physics. Sometimes it was just bogged down in detail. I really enjoyed and found fascinating the death doula aspect of the story.
