Secrets have a way of coming back to bite you. They can also eat you slowly. And in Hooking the Captain, they change the course of Ford and Coop's story.
Fresh from graduation, Ford Mahoney goes to Virginia to visit his grandparents and to get away from the mistakes he has made. He needs a break, and the last he expects is to find love in the bar of a small town. Much less to meet the hot captain of Boston's NHL team, who also happens to be a friend of his ex's boyfriend (it is as complicated as it sounds!)
Emmett Cooper is okay with having a secret fling while back in his hometown and away from the media attention that follows him in Boston. In fact, for the first time in his life, hockey isn't his sole focus because he feels at ease with Ford. They share a connection and an insane chemistry, which only intensifies the more time they spend together.
Can they build a relationship once they are back in Boston? Life has an interesting way of bursting bubbles and making the weight of secrets known. Their story is complex and messy. It also feels real because sometimes timing is everything, even when it isn't right. It is an unexpected and unpredictable journey. One that I can't wait to discover how it ends.

First there was sexual assault then it became unbelievable. ***Spoilers*** they made ford a whole villain because he turned in a professor for fucking his student? Was it petty? A bit but Hayden was responsible and takes zero accountability AND then calls Ford manipulative and toxic without meeting him?? Fuck that dude. Then him siding with the skeevy professor over this guy he supposedly loves?! Nah man that was trash THEN they add hooking up with others and I was out....
Not the best writing. Also didn't need to be two books.

MM closeted, hockey (?), romance.
Won't continue this. WTF was that ending? It ended on a cliffhanger, and let's not talk about miscommunication, what this has is non-communication.
Should've DNF.
