this was a lovely book that i would have ADORED in high school. it’s super sweet, and really nice nonbinary rep, perfect for if you’re wanting a hurt/comfort story (with most of the emphasis on the comfort). i may have outgrown the target audience for this, but i still really enjoyed it :)) the beginning is very rough in terms of content, but it was really cathartic to see ben work through all of it, especially with their friends and their sister helping along the way. the romance is really cute too, very reminiscent of heartstopper to me. anyway, real cute, just maybe better for a younger me!

I enjoyed the characters and the story but the romance lost me a bit, I think because Ben was so closed off about it until like 80% of the way through so it wasn’t the most convincing or impactful storyline. However, Ben’s character development was nice to read and the book was still worth it. Definitely would’ve impacted me more if I’d read it earlier.

I also did read this book because the author mentioned writing buddie fanfiction…

The book I would have needed as a teenager.
"I wish you all the best" tells the story of a nonbinary 18 year old, who is kicked out of their home after coming out to their parents. Moving in with their estranged sister, Ben learns to deal with what happened, and that not everyone in their life is going to be as unaccepting.
As a nonbinary person myself, who also - like Ben - comes from a religious family, this book was deeply relatable on many levels, and i wish books like this had been around when i was a teen questioning my gender.
Honestly, i think this is a book not only for nonbinary people, but also for friends and family who are trying to understand what their child or best friend is going through.

***Review and rating pending*** I just want some time to think over if this is a 4 or a 5 star.
