to me, I wish you all the best was a love story told from the perspective of a nonbinary teenager, who's struggling with complicated family relationships and mental illness.
ben's relationships (to their family and their crush) are the focus, their identity plays less of a role than I expected. the book gave me a chance to relax, to feel represented, I found it easy to relate to the characters. it was nice. but it definitely gave me way less new perspectives on being nonbinary than I'd hoped. (but maybe that is because I, too, am nonbinary and have been out for years...)
(a thing I found funny is how very 'late 2010s' the mentions of YouTube and the Internet felt :D they listened to troye sivan at one point...)

Oh my poor baby Ben. Ben's coming out story broke my heart. This was such a moving and gripping narrative.

Dont piss me off with pop culture refrences (done poorly) but im half serious beacuse what really lost my interest was the dry dialogues and lack of personality to latch onto but the premise couldve been so good ugh

i mean i liked the book for its representation and stuff but the plot…
it just felt kind of flat and predictable and also at times the characters‘ behaviour just felt unexplained and unrealistic?
yeah, idk. kind of mid
