Where's Spot?

Eric Hill

3.91 AVERAGE

Where's Spot claims to be the original lift-the-flap book, and while I don't know whether that is true, it is an excellent lift-the-flap book. Bright colors, entertaining flaps to lift, and a simple story line make this a classic addition to any child's library. Spot's mother Sally is searching for him, but she seems to find every one else instead!

A wonderful read from my childhood, one I’d certainly suggest for other youngsters. Whilst it is not my all-time favourite childhood read I can still recall all the details of this one meaning it certainly left a lasting impression upon my young mind.

And isn’t that what we want with children’s books, for them to leave a positive lasting impression?

The little one likes this book. Mostly , I think she likes saying "no" over and Over.

While I have read many spot books in my lifetime, I am not sure I have ever read the original Spot book.  It is lovely to find a university library that has an original copy in almost pristine condition.  It’s a lovely short lift the flap story that has stood the test of time and will continue to live on into the future.

Ah, Spot, Spot, the lovable Spot...a childhood classic that still entertains through its interactive simplicity of lift-the-flap. Bold colours, simple illustrations and happiness abound.

Cute! Easy enough for young children. A cute story.

Another 1001 CBYMR for the youngest of readers.

I used this book countless times, while testing students for Reading Recovery. They loved it.

An intriguing premise but I figured out the central mystery well before the big reveal. Also, this house seems very dangerous and probably unhygienic, which was off-putting.

A fun little book that has the neat flip up areas.
