Feels very Instagram poet. Some parts of this did speak to me and I can tell the poet truly grapples and I offer my condolences but it felt preachy

My goodness where do I even start with this book. The journey I went through when reading this is definitely a reflective one. It ripped me to shreds, grinded me to a pulp, stomped me into the ground, covered me with dirt, watered me, let flowers grow from where the remnants of myself were buried in an unmarked grave and then let a blissful life come from all of that.

It is a very heavy anthology but I highly recommend it. Just check the content warnings first, as it covers some very heavy, triggering topics.

this was a lot sadder than I remembered - definitely recommend checking TWs before reading.
I didn’t love that part III was really the only happy part but it revolved around a man. It made healing feel like an attachment or another person, as opposed to something that can happen individually within yourself.

It's "Instagram poetry," but I like that style. I like that it's relatable. I like that it's accessible. I even got choked up and cried over one of the poems. I also appreciated the fact that there is a trigger warning page at the front of the book. And I enjoyed being able to read it in one sitting.

I did ding a few points off because I hate it when there is just one sentence on a page. I feel like those would be better off in a separate section titled something like "Affirmations" or "Reminders."
