Lots of emotion, very moving. A little samey which is something I keep finding with modern poets who I love in other formats but in a book it just doesn't work for me sadly. I still loved the book and it helped me start to see a way through a very hard time.

Depressing. Triggering for someone who suffers from depression.

FIRST READ :: JUN 2017

Oh wow. Oh wow oh wow oh wow. Where do I even begin with this book? I liked this even better than Milk and Honey and I was not expecting that.

I rarely cry while reading but I cried and I flinched and I laughed and I smiled so much I think actual sunshine came out of my face and I was just so emotional and this was beautiful. I have never gone through anything as awful as the author did, but so many of the emotions she described are ones that I relate to so strongly. And also a lot of the little things about her personality just reminded me so much of myself. But this book (especially the last chapter) made me so so so happy and hopeful for the future.

And this style of poetry is a lot like the poetry I've been writing which just inspired me to write wow

I'm so glad I picked this up because it is a beautiful book that I would recommend to absolutely everyone. I can't wait to read Amanda Lovelace's other book that's coming out next year. I read this in one day (almost in one sitting but I stopped to eat food because have you met me) and I recommend that you also read it all in one go and just let the emotions wash over you. Take yourself for a ride. Love yourself.
