This book is peak ‘picking on your crush as flirting’
Which *can* come off immature, but Willa and Ryder *are* young college students so I was already going to give it a pass. Then with the mirroring of Ryder’s parent’s story? It was perfect.

While Ryder’s struggles with finding his new normal after sudden hearing loss upends his entire life, Willa is a perfect example of why you should be kind because you don’t always know what someone else might be struggling with.
They have a rough start, being forced to interact when they’d both have rather not. Even beyond the original class assignments, their lives still connecting to each other.
But in the end they are 110% percent there for each other - love to see how they meet each other where they are again and again.

I have to admit that I’m not a fan of Aiden so far. His help comes off condescending and his plans not really well thought out. I know the intentions are good, but (even after apology) it’s going to take work for him to grow on me.

I received this as a giveaway from the publisher. I enjoyed the characters a lot - they were not the average enemies to lovers characters. Some of the story was a bit awkward but overall it was a cute story.

Very cute! A bit cliché in places and felt like some of the dialogue verged too much into cringe territory, but overall the romance was well developed and the harder topics of loss and grief were dealt with nicely.

I LOVED IT DEARLY! as per usual, i knew i could  depend on chloe liese for accurate representation of grief, health concerns and mental health. the banter and the build up was all worth it and added so much to the plot (this means so much coming from someone who gets impatient during slow burn books) i am so excited for the next couple books and to begin this journey with the bergmans <3
