What a fantastic way to introduce readers to the absolutely epic sequence of events known as The Horus Heresy.

The introduction of The Lupercal and his men is handled perfectly.

Nothing is slow here; the action occurs immediately and does not relent.

Dan Abnett manages to thrust the reader into the brutal and fast-paced action of the galaxy-wide crusade and does so without sacrificing character development.

Highly recommend.

Okay listen! This was a very interesting read! Think Douglas Adam’s level of wit and complexity, but much darker and wrought with the darkness of humanity. Definitely verging on war porn, but there where things go chew on.
