“We shouldn’t revolve our lives around their possible endings. We should revolve our lives around the experiences that lead to the endings.”
I went into this book blind so I didn’t know it’s also about Maggie. To be honest, I really didn’t know what it was about, so it came as a shock to me that it literally starts the day after the last book ended. I love reading more into the lives of the friend group and that’s how I was until after maybe 2/3 into the book where it all started just being crammed up. I love Maggie and I definitely love Jake but it felt so fast and they didn’t really explain Jake’s thoughts regarding Maggie’s condition in the long run. Sure I love seeing more of Syd and Ridge together and how Maggie is coming into the picture (but really though, it’s just Syd coming in the frame huh). But Maggie and Jake’s relationship for me seems forced. I do love a HEA for all characters but the end was just too cringey for my taste. It’s a good read but maybe I’ll tell my old self to stop recommending this series anymore because as much as I did love it in my younger years, I don’t see the charm of this series anymore. Although it is a good closing to the series and I doubt would make me reread again though.
I bought this book way before the pandemic just because I finished Maybe Someday back in my college years (almost a decade ago tbh) and knew immediately that I would need a copy of Maybe Now - also signed! But damn, I think the book literally is getting destroyed the more pages I turned because the pages kept falling off. Maybe because I bought it so long ago but mostly because of the quality and not because me.

I really loved Maybe Someday, and had high hopes for this book. But it just didn’t quite do it for me. I enjoyed hearing more of Maggie’s story, but overall Maybe Now was underwhelming.
Moderate: Chronic illness
Minor: Infidelity, Medical content, Sexual content, and Vomit
