This book had a refreshing take on mixing up genres and the synopsis completely had me sold! The characters of Margaret and Wes were so well done that they truly felt like real people. I adored their relationship. It was so beautifully written and the descriptive language in the book was so well done.
Overall a fantastic read. I will definitely be reading anything that Allison Saft writes in the future.

I didn't really enjoy this book. It was painfully slow and a very basic love story. I was disappointed to say the least. I struggled to finish it.

I read this because I was really looking for the vibes of Mustang/Hawkeye from fullmetal alchemist and heard this was originally written as fanfiction for that pairing. I definitely liked it, but I was hoping for the vibes of the characters as they appear in the show and this was not that, this was them first meeting, and that’s fine, but the vibes are very very different. I think the book depicts antisemitism in a very real, very true way and the worldbuilding is much better than the other book I’ve read by this author. It did manage to get a few tears out of me in the end.
