I read this book many years ago, back when I was quite young and just discovering Archive.org. As I recall, this was the first book I ever read on that site, but don't ask me how I found it. Despite the passage of so much time, I still find myself returning to this book time and again in my mind as being, despite cliched as I now realize, a rather thrilling tale of the exotic, of cursed Jewels from India. I could only remember the author's first name and the 'Ch' in her surname, and just now have I finally learned the name of this book; perhaps I shall read another some day?
