This is even creepier and more messed up than the first one but it's a bit disorganized plotwise, more like a collection of short stories.

I enjoyed/was super freaked out by the first few stories, specifically The Snail & The Jack-in-the-Box. But some of the stories towards the end didn't make this one as good as the first volume for me.

Junji Ito never fails to creep me out, his artstyle is so dark but somehow still makes you crave for more, love the fact that the chapters aren’t that long and the way that every chapter has its own short story is so beautiful. 🤍

The imagery and premises are horrifying and definitely made my skin crawl at times. Ito is the master when it comes to that. I thought every story in the volume was great.

My biggest problem with the series is the lack of real connection between tales, lasting consequences, and development of the characters. It’s funny how Kirie and Suichi no longer seriously consider leaving. But if you treat it as a series of short stories with a recurring theme and characters, it’s enjoyably terrifying.
