Around first 50% of book contained Morris' life story which is more than 5 out of 5 for me. However when Bill Hodges entered it sucked a big time. Loved Hodges, Holly in the Mr.Merecedes but literally hated both of them in this one.
However, King did an amazing work on first half of the book. :D

I enjoyed Mr Mercedes more than this Finders Keepers. This book a bit more straight forward in plot, everything laid out for the reader. It felt a little like filler but also did well developing the characters from the previous book.

This one didn't grip me as much as Mr. Mercedes, but it was still an enjoyable listen. Will Patton crushed it in the narration on the audiobook yet again.

This is a bit of a step down from Mr. Mercedes, sorry to say. Part I didn't need to be 200 pages long. I feel that you could've cut out half of it and we would still understand Pete Saubers and Morris Bellamy's motivations. It honestly felt like the idea for a different novel, but King didn't know what to do with it. So he decided to drop in Bill Hodges and company a quarter of the way through. King wants to set up tension by having our heroes solve the mystery and stop Bellamy, but we already know what Bellamy wants and what he's willing to do. It just felt like King wanted to bloat the story out, it got a little too indulgent.
But the last 100 pages are a great thrill ride. And the ending was good, everything is wrapped up in a nice little bow, at least the main plot is. However we are set up for a final confrontation with Brady Hartsfield. It's interesting to see King write in the crime genre, but he does get a little indulgent when it comes to setting up characters. Also, the theme of writers vs their readers was done better in Misery. Like I said, a step down from Mr. Mercedes, but a great thriller nonetheless.
