Drama!!! Lots and lots of drama. And now I want cake. This is a great fun read that gave lots of laughs. Make sure you read the titles. They are priceless. Poppy and Leo definitely earned the beautiful ending. I can only hope that Chase gets what he deserves.

Cake Recipe:

Recipe:

Ingredients-
1 vile, man whore best friend of your ex-fiance
1 ex- best friend and current fiancee of your ex-fiance
1 wedding planning job promotion
2 wedding planners
1 maid of honor slightly derranged from being the former fiancee for 2 months before she receives the new wedding invitation

Gather all the ingredients. Put them in the powder keg that is NYC. Give them little nuggets of truth and watch it all go up in flames. Once they are about to explode send them on her dream wedding, that she planned and watch the explosions.

Its both hilarious and heartbreaking. I alternated like a crazy cat lady between wanting to cry and laughing my butt off!

For once, you can have your Cake and eat it too!

OMG! Poppy and Leo ! A great enemies to lovers romance!!

Poppy was engaged to Leo's best friend, Chase. Chase cheated on Poppy with her best friend.

Poppy, being too good a person, decides to be Claire's maid honor. Madness ensures.

Poppy (or as Leo calls her) PopTart and Leo (or as Poppy refers to him) Nass the Ass were perfect together.

They were enemies who constantly fought and insulted each other. You would think they really hate one another, but actually they were waiting for the perfect opportunity to fell into bed together.

I enjoyed the banter that never stopped between them. For people claiming not to like each other, they sure communicated a lot with one another!!

Their texts and conversations were foreplay!

A great book to read if you are in the mood for something sweet.

No, the romance between PopTart and the Ass isnt sweet, and there is some minor drama involving a bet (will men never learn????), but the book will live you content.

And Karma? is a bitch!

Hmm, where to start, I'm just not sure. All I know is that I ADORED this book! I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I stayed up late to finish it. I could barely put it down to go to work, and unfortunately the snow days did not continue while I was reading it, so I had to go to work. I was first amused that when I downloaded it to start reading during the commercials while I was watching some of my DVR episodes of Supernatural, and realized that the main character's cats were named Sam, Dean, and Castiel. As the story went on and we learned just how much Poppy loved the same show I was watching and love, I knew she was a girl after my own heart. The heartache in this story is just so intense, I mean it is her best friend marrying her ex-boyfriend, and what's worse, it is where Poppy works as a wedding planner that is taking care of the wedding. AND, her best friend still expects her to be a part of the wedding.

Fun fun

This is raw and punchy book. Nasty rom com, you gonna not even like the guy. Leo deserves some punches and Poppy needs some spine and then some.

With this said... you could pull out so many quotes from this book and laugh as idiot at them. Good rom - com.

I LOVE CAKE..No like I love cake. This book was hilarious and some how Carmen made it emotional. Poppy is better than me, I would never plan my ex-fiance and ex-bestie's wedding..FOH. Carmen manage to make this crazy situation into great love story. Great Job Sweet Carmen!

... something tells me I’d love sharing my life with this woman as much as I love fighting with her. And I really love fighting with her.

Cake was a silly, sexy, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. Add to this recipe a whole lot of sass and witty banter, and it just takes this novella to another level. I absolutely LOVED this book! I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this and you won't find me complaining for a second.

4 Stars!

ARC received for an honest review

See that there ^^?

That was me as I read Cake - because, you know, you can't read a book called Cake without eating cake. It's a law or something.

Firstly, I love love love love LOVE this cover. I am not usually a big on paying attention to covers, but I adore this one more and more every time I look at it.

This book was everything. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at my kindle, I may or may have not wanted to climb into the book and nut punch someone - or someones!

Right from the start, Cake is silly, sexy, fun and I could not put it down. Poppy and Leo are all sorts of adorable. They say fighting if foreplay, and OMG this pair love to fight.

My heart hurt for Poppy throughout this book. I am telling you now, I would never be as understanding as she is with things. I would be ripping people's balls off and shoving them down their throats! But, maybe that is just me???

I freaking adored Leo "Nass The Ass". I am like Poppy - I didn't know whether I wanted to kill him or kiss him (well, you know that I really wanted to kiss him lol)

Gah, I know this isn't doing the book justice!

So buy it, Read it. Love it!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Carmen Jenner book, and oh boy, it certainly will not be my last. I have been recommended Carmens books by a friend for the last few months, so finally getting to read one was awesome.

I loved this book! I was hooked from the very beginning, that prologue sure draws you in. Also, this book is so hilarious. I was grinning like a fool at my kindle so often its ridiculous.

Both of the main characters in this are absolutely wonderful. Leo is full of charm and witt, he's damned hilarious, and Poppy is a very strong female lead. The banter between the two of them is awesome and was one of my favourite things about the storyline. It was constant, and just plain normal for both of them.

The situation that Poppy ends up in, is one that most females would run like hell from. I know I sure would. But, she takes her job seriously, and stands up to be strong, even in the face of all the humiliation thats sure to rain down on her. And as such, all the hilarity starts.

I really wanted to punch Claire in the face. And Chase, god help me. I couldn’t stand either of them. But I guess thats part of what makes the story so good. It makes you feel things.

For the most part, this is an uplifting story. It has its horrible moments, especially given the situation, but because its a romcom, its all written in such a way that you just roll with the punches and enjoy every moment.

The book rolls on smoothly and is well written. I loved following the journey between Leo and Poppy, and there really are some awesome scenes in this book. This was a fantastic romcom and I can’t wait to read more from Carmen.
