I read this book to my 10 year old. For me, it was a frustrating slog. But he loved it! Because he loves Minecraft. He was sad when there was no sequel. It was a joy to read with him, however the main character in this book is just so frustrating. However, I think my 19 year old really enjoyed his character development.

I LOVED this book. As a Minecrafter myself, this book held humor, good memories, and a lot of little life lessons. I think Brooks does a good job of crafting a story in a forgien world. I think all Minecraft players would find a few things in this book to make them smile.

Surprisingly good for a book based on Minecraft. It exceeded my expectations and my kid loves it.
There are many unofficial Minecraft novels out there that are frankly torture to read. This one is OFFICIAL though and was actually creative and enjoyable. It was written by Max Brooks of World War Z fame. I recommend this book to families with Minecraft fans.

This was a good book for what it was. I am much older than the target demographic but this was a fun book to listen to (Jack Black narrates the audio book). It is nothing ground breaking or life changing but it is fun especially if you are familiar with the game. The way the game mechanics are shown is really interesting some times. Overall a fluffy fun, turn your brain off and just enjoy it read.
