Really liked it but unsure if I will continue. I think I'm a bit too old.
Overall I enjoyed the story and am so curious to figure out the mystery of how the main character got into this world. I liked the character growth a lot, and the ending was great. Parts of this book, especially in the beginning parts having to do with crafting, were rather tedious though. But again, overall, very good story. The writing was of much higher quality than I expected! I might read more from this author!

Actually a really good kids book with important life lessons on empathy, perseverance, and independence through a medium kids love: minecraft
SO much better than I would have expected! Gets a bit slow toward the middle and I kind of hoped it showed more of the games worldbuilding, but still an awesome book! I can’t wait to check out the others

I honestly wouldn't have picked up this book on my own. This book was given to me by one of my martial arts students. He told me that he wanted to read it with me since his older siblings don't read them. I was down and love to encourage all types of reading.
I was surprised by how this book went. It was a 'I woke up in another world' sort of story and the main character had no minecraft knowledge available to them at all. They also had no memory of their previous life in 'our' world either. I was assuming it was going to be about the characters established in the world, but that was not the case. It was interesting seeing their determination and their growth through the book. There were also plenty of failures on their part that they learned from as well. Overall, I found the book a great story about continuing to learn and not to be afraid to try new things. I am going to be getting the second book from my library to read as well with my student.

This is a fun book about who is magically transported into a cube world and needs to learn to survive. I also like that you can understand this book without knowing that much about Minecraft since the main character starts off knowing nothing about the world of Minecraft too. So while reading this you will also be learning tips and tricks on how to get better at Minecraft.
