My overthinking little mind has nothing to say about the book. This is my first Stephen King book and all I got to say is, something happened.

Stephen King rushes to hit the beats of a classic Lovecraftian tale in the last 50 pages, after rambling on about smalltown Maine life. Still enjoyable, but not really horror imho
This is one bleak read. Glad it was a summer read and not a height-of-Ohio-winter-in-January-read. Parts of this were King at his absolute best, while some of the cartoon and cliche characterizations bogged it down a bit. The Lovecraft/Shelley influences were obvious and I enjoyed the nods King makes to their works. There is a lot of work early in the novel that really earns the unexpected and terrifying end.
This might be my favorite non-IT Stephen King. I'll be excited for the inevitable film/mini-series that comes out of this.

Stephen King is a masterful storyteller, no doubt about it.....but I didn't find this story as scary as I had expected. It didn't haunt me like some of his others (Bag of Bones, It, The Shining), but Revival was still an excellent read!
