it was enjoyable, i need to stop reading reviews that give me an anticipation that i will be scared bc that kinda ruins it for me.
in my opinion, it wasn’t the scariest, had an eerie vibe towards the end tho i’ll give it that.
some parts were just too slow for my liking

Stephen King is one of my favourite authors, and for good reason. Although I wouldn't put this book amongst my favourite books, I still think it's worthy to read.

"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep..."
Truly unsettling. I will be thinking about this every night as I drift off to sleep, at least for the next couple of weeks until the fatalistic horror fades. As always, I mean to write more but make no promises.

I forgot how good a storyteller Stephen King is. Perhaps a little goofy in places but it was so well told I didn’t care. A thin vein of menace runs through the whole thing. Loved it.
I enjoyed this as I do almost all Stephen King novels. It had lots of good build-up and suspense, including moments when I questioned why I was reading it when alone in the house. The ending didn't quite satisfy the build-up, thus not quite five stars.
Classic King. I am so familiar with his work that I sort of saw the end coming. This book includes almost ALL of King's themes and motifs, making it pure literary comfort food for me, at least. Also, a cool Easter Egg involving his short novel, Joyland, which is a much better read, by the way.
