This book was okay. It's more like a nonfiction book, which is pretty much what I expected, even though it's classified as a fiction book in our library catalogue. The illustrations are beautiful and the text is informative, but a little...mature? There's some talk about mating and a lot of discussion of animals dying, although nothing graphic. A good informational book...makes no references to the dragon connection at all though. 5+
