I put this book off for a while because I heard such mixed things about it. I don't think it falls much into the thriller category, but definitely the horror category. Usually horror consist of gore & really religious undertones & this one incorporated religion a little but not as much as usual horror books & that made it much more enjoyable imo. This book was very creepy (pls read at night) & that's what I loved so much about it. I liked the story although I felt like it got a little boring at times. I didn't hate the ending but I felt like if it would have ended before the very last doc, I would have liked it better. I'll definitely pick up more by this author if he decides to keep writing!

While well-written and  certainly engrossing as the story progresses, I couldn't shake the feeling that Kliewer thought his story was more clever than it actually was. It's heavily indebted to House of Leaves, A Head Full of Ghosts, Hell House, and the list goes on. I did enjoy it, but I kept hoping it would go deeper than the cool thrill it turned out to be.
