I love Lucy Clarke’s books in general and the way she weaves so many different characters and storylines together is so fun. This was thoroughly enjoyable but didn’t quite match One of the Girls for me

I enjoyed reading this crime thriller, which was fast paced and exciting.

The story is about four friends called Helena, Maggie, Liz and Joni, who have known each other for a long time. They go on holiday every year together, and this year they are hiking in Norway and they climb a mountain called Blafjell. Of course, something bad is going to happen, and the atmosphere of the story soon becomes tense, frightening and full of suspense.

I really liked the setting of the book and learning more about hiking. The characters were interesting, and the plot was enjoyable, with a lot of layers to explore. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I heard good things about this book so was happy to start listening to the audiobook. I felt it started slow and I soon got confused with all the characters. Not sure if reading the novel would lessen the confusion between characters over listening.
I also thought after the first few problems that arose for the group it just kept bringing another and another among person issues and loud characters.
Was easy to get through quickly and the narrator was easy to listen to.

** I received this book as an eARC in exchange for an honest review **

The Hike was ok. It was enjoyable if anything and a quick read. I would definitely recommend Lucy Clark, over and over and over again, but not for The Hike. This felt a little rushed and didn't feel like her best work, which pains me to say.

The Hike takes on four friends; Joni, Liz, Maggie and Helen. Four best friends on a trip of a lifetime to hike up a Norwegian mountain, like friends do.

The Hike took twists and turns which were well written, yet predictable. I am not saying this wasn't a good book, it was a fabulous book, it was just the same form of story line I've read before. This is a perfect entry into thriller. It did take 35% for the book to start 'the hike' and 65% before I felt like anything happened.

I am quite confused as to whether I enjoyed this or not. Good book, but I've read better.

Lucy Clarke will always be an auto-buy author me, she's amazing. A true Queen of Destination Thrillers.
