highly recommend this one in a print form. this is a creative novel styled like a journal of Sahara, a college student with her depression (referred to as her “Life Partner”). the mixed media format isn’t my favorite, but the book feels raw and real.

This felt very real. A young black woman in her final year of college suffers under the weight of everything life t rows at her: judgemental relatives, her depression and suicidal ideation, frenemies, failure, race, injustice, death of those who are close, addiction. She's pretty miserable.
It was an eye opening read, especially for me. Nothing shows inequality better than his we don't  all start from the same level, and how when the odds are against us, it gets even harder progressively.

While the writing style i particular was interetsing, it got a little tiring to the stre m of consciousness and vignett style of writing. That made it hard to connect with the character.
