I absolutely loved this story! The story and world are such a unique concept and I loved the Christian aspect of it. It was funny, mysterious, thought provoking and challenging. I loved the authors unique take on the after life and how it blended fantasy with belief. I really enjoyed traversing this world with a very relatable main character Audrey.
The story has lots of mystery, action and a touch of romance and there is still lots to be unveiled about Audrey’s story. The writing was also great, describing the imagery with lots of detail and adjectives really helping you get into the story.
However the narrator was not my favorite, I just struggled with the tone of her voice.
But definitely a great read, I recommend to anyone who loves fantasy and is looking for something a little different.

The plot was interesting enough to keep me reading despite the fact that the protagonist was quite possibly the most annoying and dim-witted character ever written. The story dragged at several points, almost as though portions of the story should have been edited out completely

I'm pretty anti-religion, but what kept me going was the protagonist's disinterest in it. The writing was so good and the stakes so high, that I found myself a bit converted by the end. I even reached out to religious relatives to recommend this book. How can a story be so inventive and so believable at the same time? I... I think it's a masterpiece that will sit with me for a long time.

First, for those who may not have looked at the categories it was in, this is Christian Fantasy.

Okay, I actually enjoyed this, though it was Christian in basis. It did a good job of keeping my attention. A few things about the "afterlife" were a bit different than I expected, how the author handled it, and handled "Him"; God, was really quite good.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to review this one. All I can say at the moment is that it's better than I would have thought for being the teen novel version of heaven. Review to come, hopefully...

Okay, I'm going with four stars on this book. The premise is great, and it gets enough of the important stuff right that I can tolerate the weird bits, and writing is good. In a way life in this version of heaven is almost more like it would have been on pre-fall earth than it actually would be in heaven (human marriage still exists, etc). I can understand how it's a lot easier to write interesting character arcs in this version of heaven than a more accurate version, so I can tolerate that.

I will say that if you're planning to read this book for cool fighty bits, you may be disappointed that a good two-thirds of the book is taken up by training and interpersonal stuff.
