Was ok

The chemistry between the characters was good. I just felt she was the worst journalist. Character goes on wanting to publish the truth. The best journalists will go into a topic with an unbiased opinion to gain the truth from all sides. The heroine seemed to have an okay inner monologue but everytime she said something it didnt match what type of person she was said to be, just seemed like childish attitude and a bit bipolar with moods.

it was lowkey gas im about ot pick up the next one

3.5 rounded up

Reads somewhat like a very immature fanfiction piece but was spicy enough to be entertaining

The writing was really formal and she was like the pure virginal person which I didn't love. The characters weren't relatable. Persephone also hated Hades the whole time for literally no reason after he was only nice to her

Highly recommended read

What a beautiful story of finding one own strength and believing in oneself.
I found it slow in the beginning up until 60% after that the story accelerated, with twists, heartbreak, and power.
No matter that the beginning never gripped me I still enjoyed Persephone and Hades story immensely. The slow burn between them was very titillating and the growth of Persephone was beautiful to read.
Highly recommended series and I will definitely read book 2.
emotional funny medium-paced

always wanted to try reading this book since i've heard good things. great first book! I loved hades and persephone's relationship growth. hades is very handsome, definitely up there with the top fictional men like rhysand and casteel.

the ending felt a little rushed but that's okay. i'd love to see what happens next!

i love mythology and retellings, but this was not the hades and persephone modern romance i had hoped it would be. :( so much potential, but it just fell flat. it felt very juvenile, the instalust was too instant, i didn’t feel attached to the fmc or mmc at all, and the dialogue just didn’t land for me sometimes. despite this, i still had a hard time putting it down
