Highly recommended read

What a beautiful story of finding one own strength and believing in oneself.
I found it slow in the beginning up until 60% after that the story accelerated, with twists, heartbreak, and power.
No matter that the beginning never gripped me I still enjoyed Persephone and Hades story immensely. The slow burn between them was very titillating and the growth of Persephone was beautiful to read.
Highly recommended series and I will definitely read book 2.

always wanted to try reading this book since i've heard good things. great first book! I loved hades and persephone's relationship growth. hades is very handsome, definitely up there with the top fictional men like rhysand and casteel.

the ending felt a little rushed but that's okay. i'd love to see what happens next!

i love mythology and retellings, but this was not the hades and persephone modern romance i had hoped it would be. :( so much potential, but it just fell flat. it felt very juvenile, the instalust was too instant, i didn’t feel attached to the fmc or mmc at all, and the dialogue just didn’t land for me sometimes. despite this, i still had a hard time putting it down

I loved everything about this. Got nothing negative to say, it was perfect and I love Hades. He's so handsome and yes he has his flaws but damn 🫠 Persephone was great, so strong and powerful.
I was afraid that the whole modern mythology part would throw me off but tbh it didn't bother me and I enjoyed learning about some of the gods. I had heard about a few of them before. The chemistry between Hades and Persephone is insane ooooof.
Devoured this book and I can't wait to read the second one!

I LOVVVEEEED THIS!!! Hear me out: the beginning is a bit annoying and I was not happy and it took me a minute to get into it and it was slow. BUT - as soon as you hit 20% or so, it gets addictive. I was just super busy, so getting to 20% took me a while. So really, the only reason this is not a 5/5, is the beginning and maybe the end which felt very rushed. Regardless, this was so fun and I loved it. I fell in love with Hades the second he popped up, and I really liked persephone too. The story was really nicely written, and had a nice mixture of actual plot, simple greek mythology details, and spice. The story is a persephone and hades retelling, and it was so cute. My favorite parts were the bathing scene and the baking scene. SOO GOOD. Anyway. I recommend this, especially if you love greek mythology like me, because it made the story so interesting and added layers and depth to the plot. Great read :)))

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair
Heed the content warnings! Adonis is a predator and he drugs Persephone and Lexa and forcibly kisses Persephone. The characters are taken care of and Adonis is dealt with, but be careful if you need to skip parts, skip them.
I'm so excited to dig into this series! Hades the God of Death and Persephone the Goddess of Spring. I loved this book! I adore that Hermes calls Persephone: Sephy. So cute! I really liked the idea of New Athens, of Gods and Mortals existing in the same space. I enjoyed the characters that the author created from these age-old myths.
Like in other Scarlett St. Clair books we get this push/pull of the heroine fighting her feelings for the hero because he is “bad.” But what does bad mean anyway? As with other Scarlett St. Clair books we get a strong heroine looking for freedom and she comes into her power. Excellent story!
