While I don't think the mystery of this book is as good as the one in the first book, I do think that the way that it builds on the story improves the first book.

The characterization and exploration of characters from book 1 is brilliant, showing us a different side to characters we only really saw before in the context of the Andie investigation. It makes them more real, three dimensional and nuanced. The same happens to pip; negative aspects of her character are amplified and shown in a new light. The ending is also devastating. If you've read the first book, you have to read this one too.

The ending was so good but it’s so hard to get into like it only really starts getting good after the first 200 pages and I wish ravi was more involved with this book also this may seem very controversial but Jamie’s mum really irritates me

My oh my! What another amazing read from Holly Jackson. I started off reading it very slowly but once over half way I just couldn’t put it down and just wanted to read to the end to see what had really happened to Jamie and who was behind the identity of Layla Mead. Not only this but it’s revealed that one of the characters has a very nasty past and is living with a new identity which the person behind Layla Mead knew about and was trying to work out which of the Little Kilton residents “Child Brunswick” was as they seek out revenge for everything they did with their father in the past, however their name being “Child” due to being a minor.
We follow Pip and Connor on a journey as they try to work out what has happened to Connor’s brother, Jamie, as Pip reopens her blog for this case as they document everything they discover about Jamie and the moments leading up to his disappearance. Honestly loved this book and would read again if given the opportunity!
