Stunning

That's the best word for it. From the beginning to the heart-wrenching loss and then through the entire journey with Tegan and her efforts to heal, this book stunned me again and again. So incredibly well done.

I felt ripped off that Gabe was dead and had been for most of the book. It seemed like I had been lied to. The book also seemed to be a copy of Eat Pray Love with Tegan's adventures in Italy, Thailand and Hawaii. I did want to finish it though...

Oh man have the kleenex close when you read this one!! Come away with me has been on my #tbr for ages and I'm so glad I finally got to it!! This was such a heartbreaking story of grief and loss and the pain one woman goes through trying to recover in the aftermath and an incredibly real, raw look at how loss can tear apart a marriage.

When Tegan and her husband Gabe lose their unborn son after a car accident, the two try to deal with their grief and the fractures it causes in their marriage. They decide to do some of their bucket list items and travel to Thailand, Italy and Maui in an attempt to heal. I loved the travel descriptions in this book! They were a wonderfully transporting distraction from real life right now.

The book also has great mental health rep as Tegan battles depression and trying to balance anti-depression meds. I got a lot of CoHo vibes with this book and the surprise twist near the end I didn't see coming. HIGHLY recommended for fans of The invisible husband of Frick Island, Pack up the moon or Eat, pray love. If you haven't read this debut by Canadian Karma Brown what are you waiting for???

CW: car accident, loss of a child, grief

Tegan has a life altering accident change the course of her life and she must learn how to live in her new normal. Her husband and her made a bucket jar of things to do and places to visit and she decides to embark on three of them to help heal from this accident.

I absolutely adored how the author weaved in stories from their past in different ways, they were all creative and worked so well. It was also helpful that these chapters were nicely labeled with their relation to the accident as that is the pivotal moment in this couple's lives.

Que historia triste porém muito bonita.
A cada página vamos aprendendo junto da protagonista a passar por cada dor que ela sente, e desde o inicio eu tinha certeza o tipo de historia que eu estava lendo, mas aí... que virada!

This book was so real. Raw. Amazing. Very relatable. A book you'll carry around in your soul for awhile.
