Perfect way to end the year

I loved all of it. Perfect way to finish 2024.
From the title of Beef to the genuine kindness and goodness from people being assertive (in the good way) really expands the emotional reach of the story. I liked that the "big bad" in the war of the universes actually went into the empathy that Epic the musical tries to explain occurs within war. There was a reason for everything and I cried numerous times and cited Taylor Swift as a response to certain areas of the book. The spice/smut was fantastically written. Generous description and good length per scene without cutting things too short or dragging them out unnecessarily.

A little heavy at the start and at periods throughout the book due to the heaviness of death and the particular deaths of certain characters. Despite this I found it a rather easy to digest book due to the determination and strength of the characters within. A fantastic and thought provoking book. I greatly looking forward to more of Jaysea's work.

I absolutely loved this book. As a follower of the “Helles Bells” series on TikTok, the story of Bell, Lily and Sharkie was so lovely. I look forward to a sequel? maybe? :)

After following the story on TikTok for a while I was so excited to read this prequel. And I wasn’t disappointed. Not only did I enjoy the plot but it brought the characters to life and took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, I cried. Jaysea does an incredible job of creating believable characters and making you feel like you’re a part of the world she has created. Just make sure you’re prepared for some spice because it does not disappoint. But despite the fun, it also handles heavy emotions and moments with skill and finesse. What an incredible story.

I laughed, I cried, I sobbed, and I probably blushed. I might have come into this a little biased, being a fan of the TikTok series as well, but I honestly just…loved this book. I need to read it again, this time to highlight bits that resonated. Hell, I just need a print version to highlight and sob all over.

If you love spicy modern fantasy, if you love sassy heroines, if you love strong, succinct world-building, if you love emotionally-healthy male characters, and a little splash of Karens getting their Universal Karma, then you definitely need to read this book.

I was so excited to read this book, because I loved the TikTok series so much. It was wonderful— it made me laugh, cry, and think. I hope Jaysea Lynn will write more, I need a sequel!

I laughed, I cried, I cackled, I swooned, I fell deeper in love with characters I have come to know through the author Jaysea Lynn's TikTok series 'Hell's Belles', in which this book is based on.

I was really excited to read this book, excited from the moment the author announced that a book series was on it's way and it didn't fail to live up to my expectations. This story was thoughtful, hilarious and world building in a way that I'd come to enjoy from watching the skits on TikTok, with the bonus of indepth insight to the backstory of the central characters and their motivations.

It you loved the TikTok series or if you just love found family, slow burn friends to lovers romance, a thoughtful and compassionate twist the the idea of the Afterlife, demon himbos, a semi sentient house, deities with spicy banter, hilarious dad jokes and puns, and a cat named Max then you'll definitely love exploring the Afterlife with memorable well flushed out characters.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THE AUTHOR'S NOTE. The author does give a thorough but brief trigger warning at the beginning of the book.

WARNING ⚠️ for themes surrounding grief, child abuse, SA, religious trauma and deconstruction, violence and gore, explicit and sexual language among other sensitive subject matter readers may be sensitive or adverse to.
