My first Emily Henry book, one I was quite excited for (totally not because of the screen adaptation whaat) but which sadly failed to meet my expectations.
Although I did not open this book with a grudge every time I started reading, there was never a time that I was actually hooked on the story.
With no aversion whatsoever to the characters, the plot or Henry's writing style, it just didn't seem deliver. I remember exactly two moments in this book that i liked. Moments that genuinly made me think, wow, this is beautifully written. But they were both the last paragraphs of final pages of random chapters, and inbetween it all it was, frankly and unfortunately, just plain boring.
Can't wait for the movie though, and will probably try another one of her books in the future.

There’s not a single book this woman makes that I won’t absolutely adore with my whole being.
Whoever says this is the “worst” of her books is down baaaaad, but gotta respect everyone’s tastes (although I will not take any criticism on Emily Henry’s books, ever).
If I thought of myself a lover of the friends to lovers trope without having read any actual book with it, now I can confidently say that I am indeed a sucker for it.
God I loved everything in this book, I swear. The emotion, the tender and passionate love, the teasing and the relationships all throughout it. Amazing.
A part of me wishes we got a tiny extra chapter on how my lovelies Poppy and Alex are doing after the epilogue but another part of me loves Emily for letting us rummage around our own minds to see what we believe they are up to.
It’s just that this book and the characters in it, spoke to me, and I love it.
