Ahhhh YA lit! Good reminder that everything feels like It fucking sucks as a teen and most of the time It genuinely actually does! That might sound dark but It was like nostalgic going back into that younger mindset trying to deal with imagined and real troubles while they feel equally significant. The book did a great job of being like actually It doesn’t even matter if they’re real or imagined bc you’re gonna have to deal with It either way. Great characters who I was rooting for 🥹 Also loved hearing the diff ways the world could end

This book was a pretty quick read despite the length. The only thing that had erked me about it is that we barely went a chapter without mentioning Jesse and how the world is ending. It felt a little bit redundant and more of filler. I know these are the two biggest factors within the story but im not sure if it needed to be brought up as often. With these notes as well as the mentality of the main character I almsot didnt finish it due to his self depreciation and his mental hold on how bad things were for him, again I know its the plot but felt a little overkill. Overall I gave this book a 3.75. There was the continuous urge to read and to finish the book even early on in the book.

Verrrrry depressing and at times felt like it really had been written by a teenager. I don't know if I would have finished if not for book club.
