I didn't like either of the main characters at all (slight manic pixie dream girl and meninist undertones?), but I found the writing entertaining and I liked the concept/story.

I was irate during the majority of my time with this book.
Immediately, I knew that this FMC was too quirky for me. Tripping over nothing, causing fires, dropping things... she was an outright mess, which is why her family constantly bullied her about it.

I knew from the second book in this series that I wouldn't like Olivia, even though she was barely described there. Now that I've met her, I absolutely hate her.
I have never encountered an FMC who jumps to incorrect conclusions as often as Olivia.
Furthermore, EVERY single issue she encountered in the book was 100% her fault, and I have also never encountered an FMC so unwilling to take accountability for the fact.

On to the actual romance in this book: what chemistry?? Despite the fact that the characters knew so much about each other due to the phone conversations, they still didn't really get to know each other.
97% of the way in, Olivia still made harsh assumptions about Collin's intentions, showing me that she never respected him, she only craved his attention.
As soon as she thought she might lose it, she decided to come correct, but the damage was already done. By that point, I knew I hated the book, and even more, her character.

5 ⭐️ I love Mr. Wrong Colin and Miss Misdial Olivia banter with each other.

I accidentally read the Love Wager first but they work perfectly fine as stand-alones so it didn’t matter all that much. What do you do when a random number texts you? For Olivia, she puts her wit and charm to the text and responds, forming a relationship with Mr Wrong Number, who happened to be her now-roommate and her brother’s best friend. I enjoyed the playful banter, but struggled with how many misunderstandings there were between the 2 of them. Overall, I liked the book and it was enjoyable to read. I appreciated the dual POV. I would have preferred to read it, rather than listen to it as an audiobook because of how much text exchanges there were and I really couldn’t stand the female narrator’s voice.

Kind of forgettable but fine. Brother's best friend plus a mix-up phone number situation.
