As always, a solid thriller from BA Paris. No frills, just exactly what you want: a gross rich asshole to hate, a scrappy survivor girl to love, and a strong silent bodyguard to save her. Some kidnapping, some beautiful descriptions of New Zealand, and a chapter that's just a set of instructions. Good deal.

This was such a dumb book. Everything just ‘happens’ to the main character. She is so helpless I just assumed a man wrote this book.
she marries a man for money that ALL her friends warn her about, the man is abusive, and turns out SA one of her friends, AND kills all of her friends, after all of that she falls in love with her kidnapper…not once does this book associates her dumbass choices as a reaction to her trauma.
This book dragggsss on. I don’t recommend.

When Amelie father passes away when she's just 16 she runs away to find a job to survive. She finds herself a good job working in the home of woman that turns into a great friend.

Amelie is naive and gets swept up into a bad deal with Ned. She finds herself trapped with no way out. When she and Ned get kidnapped and locked up she must find a way to escape and survive, regardless of what her husband says.

The book was very fast-paced and it kept me wanting to know what would happen next. It was a good story and it all came together. I am just not sure if it will be memorable even in the next month.
