Bared to You

This is everything 50 shades is not, and I enjoyed 50 shades. This isn't an inexperienced, improbable, innocent girl. She has depth and a backbone. She is an equal match to Gideon and I love this book for that. There are some horrific situations brought out in this story.

Here’s the thing. I like the characters, their building and their stories. But be prepared to face a lot of self-esteem issues, ultra possessive hero, miscommunication and trauma.Mostly what kept me going was my curiosity of seeing their character development so imma keep reading.

I guess this is a reread but since I don’t remember almost anything it was like reading it for the first time. I see why the past me stopped at the first book but I feel like now I’m ready to continue it, so stay tuned I guess.

I liked the writing style, but sex was used to solve their problems too many times.

Enjoyed this story. I'm looking forward to book 2.

8/10

I'm sure this book gets compared to Fifty Shades of Grey a lot. There are some similarities but more differences. I liked Eva. I liked that she was flawed and experienced and not afraid to stand up for herself. I liked Gideon too, but I thought his character development was a bit forced. I will read the next one for sure!

Romance novels follow a pretty common formula so I can't pretend like this one was so different. I think I just liked that the writer was able to keep me engaged. I also liked that the main female character had a backbone and some depth, not just waiting for a man to fulfill her. Unfortunately the love interest is a little cookie cutter, emotionally damaged, a bit obsessive, loads of money, gorgeous. I actually wished he was a regular guy, at least money wise, so then it could have come across as slightly more realistic. In comparison to 50 Shades of Grey (which is very similar in story), it is better written and the heroine doesn't make you want to punch yourself in the face.

If you enjoy reading about toxic relationships then this is for you. I'll admit I was interested in finding out how things would play out between Eva and Gideon. Sylvia definitely knows how to put spice on a page. This book is full of

Not the healthiest relationship dynamic, but was still an enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to continuing the series so I can hopefully see their relationship evolve into something more healthy.
