This book was very interesting and full of heart. I was not super familiar with JVN but knew he was an icon in the gay community. I enjoyed hearing about his life and overcoming so much hardship. His story was genuine, inspirational, and relatable. This was a nice feel-good journey.

CAN I PLEASE RATE THIS BOOK 100 STARS???? I feel so grateful for having gotten to hear JVN’s deeply moving story. It helped me feel so much less alone in the struggles of life. I listened to the audiobook read by the author and can’t wait to listen again. Shoutout to Bug, I know you were the kittiest cat ever!!!
This was a powerful and raw memoir and I so appreciate Jonathan’s passion and vulnerability. His willingness to share his trauma in hopes of it being able to help someone else is admirable. I laughed a lot. I cried. I learned SO MUCH more about the story behind the man I have grown to love and have learned a lot from on Queer Eye.
**I highly recommend listening to the audiobook because it is narrated by him. Therefore you hear all of his expression, emotion and personality as he shares his stories. I started off reading it and enjoyed it 10x more when I switched to audiobook as there is a lot that is hard to transfer in writing.

Wow so I knew NOTHING about JVN apparently. This story is amazing and was even more so as an audiobook. I am thrilled I came back to this purchase after a year. I finished it in one day with no breaks. Although you wouldn’t think the story is not personally relatable to a cis white female, it definitely is. He makes you laugh, and cry (seriously), and want to love yourself more. Definitely recommend!
