I enjoyed the characters and the overall story, but I didn‘t care one bit for all the baseball (much less understand any of it, since baseball isn’t a thing where I’m from) and I wasn’t always vibing with the writing style tbh. It might be because of the perspective and the amount of telling instead of showing.

3.5* okay so it wasn't bad, but i didn't capture me all that much either. i suppose the chemistry didn't feel like it made all that much sense to me? and also i s'pose this is a sport (baseball) that does not do it for me. just a normal, average, okay read

The softest most real romance I’ve ever read that hit at JUST the right time. It’s a love letter to baseball, found family, trans hope and letting yourself dream and want. The banter is flawless, the spice is at the perfect level and is an extension of their relationship, and nothing is played up for the drama. Real life is dramatic enough :)
