This book was absolutely amazing! I need Hoffman to write another queer romance immediately. The queer love in this was beautiful and I love Gene being a trans man playing minor and major league baseball. His and Luis’s love story was so cute and I just love them! This story is truly going to live rent free in my mind! It had humor, but also real life experiences represented in a raw way. Luis and his anxiety is something so many relate to, and his journey with coming out. I was not a big fan of the third act conflict, but I do think it worked for the story and I understand why it happened, so I’m looking past it. Such an incredible book, I 1000% recommend. I’m so happy I chose this to be my first LGBTQIA+ book for pride month. Also, after my reading experience, I’m even happier that I own the illumicrate special edition lol
