La primera mitad entretenida pero siento que no he conectado nada con los personajes y es que no me importaban por lo que al final he decidido abandonarlo. También porque la trama es muy meh, sinceramente no sabría decirte que trama es la principal.

This was a fun, action-packed read! The world is very vivid. A lot of the characters reminded me of those in his YA series but I liked them the first time round too. The world is complex and I can't wait to see what happens next.
3.75-4 stars.

Star Wars meets high epic fantasy in a clash between two siblings on opposite sides of a war.
High three stars with a huge improvement with the following two books!⭐️
A magical war previously destroyed an empire, and a new one was built in its ashes. Now a brother and sister fight to save the world the way they think is best.
Maya is stolen from her home by the Order and trained in wielding deiat, the power of creation, the Chosen's desperate legacy to humanity. She is on the path to becoming one of the most powerful centarchs the Order has seen in years.
Her older brother, Gyre, hate the Order for taking away his younger, sickly sister, chases rumours of people who stand up and fight back against the authority of the Republic in a city hiding powerful artefacts capable of toppling the Order. There, he dons the ghost story of the Halfmask with a group of fellow rebels.
I think this would be a great gateway for people starting their journey in high epic fantasy, adult fantasy, or science fiction elements.
Occasionally, some character interactions and motivations felt quite juvenile and jilted, yet sometimes this just added to the experience by taking away from the darkness.
Plus, Wexler inserts such easy humour and remarks throughout which makes it amusing to follow.
Wexler admitted in his authors note that the novel originated in a series of conversations about Star Wars.
I can totally see that - there’s swords which function like lightsabers, there’s Gates that transports those with power across large distances, there’s a lot of explosions, running around, and high stakes fights.
As always, I am a sucker for sibling stories. Then pit them against each other in a war they both think they’re on the right side of? Gimme!
If you enjoyed the TV show Arcane, I would definitely recommend this!

Blimey. I probably should of waited more than 5 mins after finishing to write the review, because the ending of this book, has left my jaw on the floor!
This book was awesome and a great start to a new series. I've read other Django books and I can safely say, this is not like any of them. Apart from the ability to write incredible characters and arcs.
This book probably treads the line between YA and Adult fantasy. But it works in whatever box you would want to put it in.
The world is legitimately insane. Amazingly done and vivid!! So so vivid! This is going to probably end up as one of my favourite worlds if book 2 and 3 go in the same way.
The book is a little chaotic to start and it's not the smoothest book to get into, but when it clicks. Boy, are you in for a ride.
There are so many interweaving threads, which make this story so fantastic. I honestly loved the way the characters story grew and that he's left so much room for more . Loved it
