Story? Bad. Characters? One dimensional and bad. Writing? Repetitive and not great.

The overall story had potential. A young woman scorned by her mate and then invited to take part in the trials to win the position as his queen. Sounds angsty and intriguing right? Yeah that’s what I thought. Wrong, apparently, at least in this book.

The plot ended up having like 17 arcs all getting more and more ridiculous as it went. By the end we are going to war and finishing the war in like 40 pages??????? M’am. What?

Would not recommend.

This book was a lot of tell and not enough show. I am glad it was a quick read, as was the entire series, but I wanted more from the ending since the build up of killing the queen was over the course of 4 books.
