I enjoyed this book throughly, for the longest time I hated the main character, so deeply that it was hard to read but that's because I was too silly to see how she may be the product of the trauma within her family. This book shows that Holly Jackson gets better with each book she writes and I can't wait to follow her through out her career.
i also wanted to say that I immensely appreciate the portrayal of domestic abuse in this book. Rachel is a victim but she is more than that , she is intelligent and all of her actions are done out of the love for her family. I think it is one of the best portrayals of a DA victim I've ever read, the fact that she only chose to break free from Charlie when her daughters life was in danger, her constant sacrifice for that life and how despite being in a position of weakness, she never stops fighting to protect her family. 'Family first' is probably the mantra to all abused mothers out there, I'm so thrilled Jackson took the time to cultivate an accurate portrayal

— okay actual review cause i just did that quickly i was so sleepy after finishing last night but hello?? this shit was insane and like i lowkey didn’t expect that like i was flabbergasted… like i had some theory’s that involved the person behind it but not exactly what happened which is lowkey insane uhh yeah idk this was a nice quick read tbh

3.5⭐️ kept me interested but overall pretty mid. Bel was super unlikable and I was able to predict too many of the twists (and I’m a dumb dumb!!)

This isn't my favourite Holly Jackson book.
I did really enjoy this story and it is an interesting plot but for me the first half of the book was very slow and it felt like I blinked and everything changed.
I also found Rachel quite a tricky character.

Started as a three star, but things started to get better making it four star for me. There was plenty of twists and turns still, which kept me going and a few big shocks at the end.
