Quite good fun as it was written in the 80s, quite sexy and egalitarian in the sex (had forgotten that women with equal sex drive was still a relatively fresh concept back then.) Hero’s straight out of the 60s  but heroine is an ambitious modern yuppy. But he’s down with that because she’s not his usual passive lay. Apparently gender equality was that simple😆
Also some psychic stuff. Had hoped there’d be some more mystery but it’s basically just a fairly dated romance.

This book was originally published in 1994 and I should have suspected that I had read it before but the description on NetGalley didn't sound familiar. Once I started reading the story, I did remember more. While it feels a wee bit dated, this book actually isn't too bad for being 23 years old. Hero David Brady is a little alpha-male-ish but it's not any worse than some of the more recent books I've read. He's a big-shot documentarian (think Ken Burns) who is doing a show on psychics.
AJ Fields is the agent for one of those psychics, Clarissa. But she's reluctant to put Clarissa to yet another battery of tests. And she's even more reluctant to explore the draw she's feeling for David. But we get to see the two of them fall in love, figure out their relationship, and find their HEA.

Mind Over Matter begins when Brady gets a real psychic to do a tv show for him. The problem is that her agent is causing a few issues, and feelings in himself. A.J. isn't sure how to deal with Brady or the feelings he brings out, but she will do everything she can to protect her client.

This book was okay. I enjoyed the overall idea of the story, but I had a really hard time liking A.J. She was beyond annoying and a major coward. I hated that, other than that I liked the rest of the story.

Story was tedious; didn't like the main character; only finished because I was listening to the audio version in the car.

Originally released in 1987, Mind Over Matter is a reissued Nora Roberts romance that reminded me of the Harlequins I grew up reading and had me remembering just how much fun they were to lose myself in for a few hours.

Oh, the 80s. How I love that decade: Quirky music and movies, big hair, and even bigger egos. It was entertaining to take a step back in time and read a romance set in a world before cell phones and social media, where even though our main characters were busy in their challenging careers, the pace didn’t seem as frenetic as it does today. Considering that this was written in the first decade of her career, I was surprised that I still fell right in line with Roberts’ writing as I always do, with her lush descriptions and her ability to draw emotion out of each scene.
