no spoilers......I truly enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The concept is exactly what I like with a serial and a team to stop them. I dislike a lot of mysteries because there can be too many characters, details, and information to keep up with. I find this the perfect sweet spot for a casual read, but you still are thinking about how everything connects together. I saw that some people rated it low because of the gruesome killing of children, but I did not find it that bad. This is obviously preference so keep that in mind if that bothers you. I hope the authors write more like this in the future!

I struggled with deciding on rating this book… it was a tough fight between 3.5 or 4 stars. This plot is pretty cliche and predictable.. something that we would have read or watched before in the crime/thriller genre. I decided to go with 4 because the writing was good in my opinion and It managed to hold my attention.

4.5. okay, this was pretty freaking good. because i thought what happened had happened but then it wasn't an insistent plot point for so long that i forgot i was thinking it so when it was actually revealed, it managed to completely surprise me - which was amazing because i already knew that and forgot i needed to know it anymore. i don't know that that has.... ever happened before. but it did such a good job of playing misdirection with your focus and amping up the suspense in other areas. also, it wasn't steve so POINTS A ZILLION FOR THAT because almost every other thriller i've read this year (and in the past five years) would've pulled EXACTLY that shit so thank freaking crap for that ^^
