I finished this book in 2 sittings. It was kind of like being on a train that you know is going to crash. It was about a lot of different things but mostly just about how hard it is to be a human being in this day and age. April May is an incredibly relatable protagonist because she makes a ton of super bad decisions that any person in her shoes might have made. I can’t wait to read the second book and find out what kind of lasting consequences those decisions have caused.

I went into this book not knowing ANYTHING about it, and I think that's the way to do it.

It's a wild ride.

If you MUST know things about it....
A fictional take on how someone can blow up on social media and how that can unravel their life and create entire movements. With a sci-fi alien backdrop. BTW the sequel is a whole left hook that is even better, somehow.

Always a pleasure. I love this story and these characters, and this was a fantastic re-read. A classic!

I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing about it other than my sister told me I had to read it. She was right (and even thanked in the acknowledgements under the category of "people who say 'you have to read this book!'").

I started reading this before I went to sleep. I didn't, ironically dream about it, but I woke up and finished the whole rest of the book. It was wonderful, thought-provoking about our culture of fame in society, and touched on the beautiful idea that we are all one, intricate, diverse species worth celebrating.
